Making your space work for you
An increasing number of Australians are ditching the office commute. In fact, almost a third of working Aussies now regularly work from home, and that number will likely grow as technology makes it easier for us to work from wherever we are. So, it’s becoming more and more important to create a comfortable home workspace.
Get it right the first time and you won’t have to rent office space. Plus, if you’re thinking of selling your home, a great home office space could add to its appeal.
If you are designing your home workspace, there are a few things to keep in mind that’ll help you maximise its potential.
Get organised
Make sure you have designated storage areas. Give some thought to which furniture and cabinetry pieces can give you the best bang for your back, especially in a small space. For example, a desk with shelves above it can offer a lot of functionality with a pretty small footprint.
Comfort is key
Ensure that you have plenty of natural light, and good ventilation. After a day spent in front of your computer, you’ll thank yourself for it. You can also add plants for an extra bit of outdoorsy energy.
Also remember that a good quality office chair can drastically change how you work.
Solve it with Suncorp banking options
Consider the kitchen
If you don’t have the space for a full home office, you could consider a kitchen-bench office that packs away easily. It’ll give you a handy admin zone that everyone can use, offering space for day-to-day tasks like paying bills and online shopping.
