Extreme Weather Assistance
Wild weather events are a fact of life in Australia. Storm, floods, bushfires and more – many of us have been affected, or may be affected, at one time or another.
If your home or car has taken a hit, we’re here to help. We want to get you back to normal ASAP, with the support and resources you need. That’s the Suncorp Spirit, and it’s why we’ve made it easy to claim on your Suncorp Insurance policy.

If you have Suncorp Bank personal, home or small business loans you can request assistance via our 24/7 Flood Support Request Form.
If you can’t return home
If you have a Suncorp Home Insurance policy and you can’t return home after an insured event, you may be entitled to cover for temporary accommodation. We’ll pay the cost of living somewhere other than home, up to 10% of your sum insured, for 12 months (or 24 months if you have a Classic Advantages policy).
If you do wind up living somewhere else for a while, there’s a few things to remember.
- Contact your mortgage provider
Depending on who you’re with, they may have programs in place to assist with homeowners affected by disasters, such as temporary suspension of payments.
- Switch your gas and water off at the mains
This makes your property a bit safer, and ensures that you’re paying minimal bills for a house you’re not living in.
- Contact your utility providers
Your providers for gas, water, internet and so on may need to know about your situation.
- Redirect your mail
You can easily arrange this service via Australia Post.
