What is a ‘home sum insured’?

Your sum insured is the amount listed on your policy as the most we’ll pay to repair or rebuild your home in the event of a successful claim. You can choose your sum insured, from a range offered by us, when you take out or renew your policy. If your sum insured is less than the amount it would cost to rebuild your home, you may have to pay additional costs out of pocket if your home is damaged or destroyed. You can estimate your rebuild cost with our Home Building Calculator.

How can Suncorp Insurance help Build it Back Better?

If your home is damaged by an insured event and the assessed repair or rebuild costs are more than $50,000 or 10% of your sum insured (whichever is higher), you’ll be offered additional recommended resilience options to help protect against severe weather. Depending on your level of cover this could be up to $5,000 - $10,000. This feature is now available on all Suncorp Home & Contents and Building Insurance policies. Conditions apply. Read the PDS for full details.
