How can we help you?
You can make a claim with us directly if the at-fault driver is insured by Suncorp Insurance.
At Suncorp Insurance our dedicated CTP Claims Concierge and Personal Injury Claims Team are here to support you through every step of your claim. We will review the accident, determine who is liable, support your reasonable rehabilitation and treatment needs and assess your claim. We will work directly with you and your healthcare providers to ensure you receive personalised care to recover as quickly as possible.
We adopt an approach where each claim is evaluated based on its own merit. We consider individual circumstances and prioritise fairness in the assessment process.
Plus, you will not incur any claim management or legal fees when you deal directly with us.
Our article How to claim for a car accident injury sets out each step of the clam process.
You can contact our CTP Claims Concierge by calling 13 11 60 or lodging a personal injury claim form. They will be able to:
- help you identify the insurer or the vehicle at fault
- assist you in completing the relevant claim form, and
- lodge your claim on your behalf right away.
Claiming directly is simple and fast
Some CTP claims can often be resolved quicker through a direct relationship with the CTP insurer. We aim to support you with your rehabilitation to enable return to work and a healthier life as quickly as possible.
In our experience, the number one reason legally represented customers tell us they switch to dealing directly with us is they want to see their claim resolved sooner.
What can I claim for?
All injuries and circumstances are different. The amount of compensation paid depends on a range of factors, such as:
- the severity of the injury
- functional impairments, and
- if you were wholly or partially at fault for the accident.
We’ll work with you to help you understand what compensation you’re entitled to.
We’ve also written an article that discusses some of these compensation types in more detail.
Do I need a lawyer?
At Suncorp Insurance, we have a dedicated personal injury team who are specifically trained to handle personal injury claims, and depending on your location, can meet with you in person to discuss your claim. This means you will have support and guidance throughout the process, which could alleviate some stress and confusion.
At Suncorp Insurance our goal is to help you navigate the claims process and make it as simple and clear as possible, while also arranging the necessary treatment and rehabilitation to enable you to return to work and good health.
Our approach may well eliminate the need for you to pay a lawyer after a car accident. However, you will always have the option to seek paid legal advice.
In Queensland, lawyers on a ‘no win, no fee’ basis can charge up to 50% of your compensation from your personal injury claim in fees. Your ‘compensation’ means your damages less the total of the applicable statutory refunds (e.g. to Medicare and Centrelink) and disbursements (e.g. fees for medical reports).
When you deal directly with us your compensation is not reduced by legal fees.
If you’re considering getting legal advice, it’s a good idea to check how much it will cost so you can make an informed choice. Please be aware not all legal fees can be claimed back from the insurer if the claim falls under the minimum threshold ($54,850 for a motor accident in FY25).2
Catastrophic injuries
Sometimes a car accident can result in catastrophic injuries. Suncorp Insurance recognises that individuals who have suffered catastrophic injuries in a car accident have claims that may benefit from legal advice.
