Multi-Policy Discount

We like to think our insurance policies are already pretty good value — but if you’ve got multiple eligible policies, it can get even better.

How does the Multi-Policy Discount work?

If you have three eligible Suncorp Insurance policies, you’ll get 15% off each policy. If you take all three out together, the discount will apply to all. If you have two already and take out a third, the discount will apply on that third one immediately, and on the first two when they’re up for renewal.

FYI, CTP Insurance isn’t eligible for a discount, but will count as one of your three, so it can help you get a discount on other policies.

Multipolicy 15% off

Which policies are eligible for a Multi-Policy Discount?

Home

This refers to building-only policies. If you have a combined Home & Contents Insurance policy, that counts as two — so you’d only need one more eligible policy to enjoy your discount! FYI, the discount does not apply to the Suncorp Insurance Home Assist or Excess-Free Glass optional covers.

Contents

This refers to contents-only policies. If you have a combined Home & Contents Insurance policy, that counts as two — so you’d only need one more eligible policy to enjoy your discount!

Landlord

Yep — if, say, you’ve got Home & Contents Insurance for your own home and a Landlord Insurance policy for your investment property, you qualify.

Comprehensive Car

FYI, the MPD does not apply to the Suncorp Roadside Assist optional cover.

Third Party Property Damage Car

Yep, add Third Party Property Damage — including Fire, Theft & Third Party Property Damage policies — to any two other eligible policies and you’ll get 15% off. Simple as that!

Motorcycle

A motorcycle policy is eligible, regardless of whether it’s:

  • Comprehensive
  • Third Party Property Damage, or
  • Fire, Theft and Third Party Property Damage.

Caravan

If you’re headed out on the road and you’ve got a Suncorp Insurance policy for your caravan, trailer or horse float, as well as the car towing it — that’s two eligible policies, right there.

Motorhome

Doesn’t matter whether you choose a Comprehensive or Third Party Property Damage Motorhome policy — both are eligible for the MPD.

Boat

Doesn’t matter whether you choose a Comprehensive or Third Party Property Damage Boat policy — both are eligible for the MPD.

CTP Insurance

Great news! Suncorp CTP Insurance counts as an eligible policy towards the discount. So if you have Car Insurance and CTP, you only need one more eligible policy to qualify.

CTP itself can’t be discounted, but it still counts as an eligible policy, so you can enjoy discounts on other policies.

Switching your CTP to Suncorp Insurance is quick and easy – it takes less than 60 seconds, and you don’t even have to wait for your registration renewal.

Online discount

Receive a discount off the premium when you buy an eligible policy online today.^

Increasing Your Excess

This will mean that, while your monthly or yearly premium may be cheaper, you'll need to pay a higher amount if you make a claim where you're liable to pay an excess. Eligible policies include Comprehensive Car Insurance, Home & Contents Insurance, Landlord, Building and Contents Insurance.

Increase your excess

You can lower your premium by increasing your excess on eligible policies.

If you’re eligible for more than one discount, we apply any subsequent discount to the already discounted premium (generally before adding taxes and charges).

  1. To qualify for the 15% Multiple Policy Discount (the MPD) you must have 3 or more eligible paid personal insurance policies with Suncorp Insurance. There must be a common mailing address and the person(s) seeking the discount must be nominated as an insured with the same name and date of birth on each eligible policy.
  2. The eligible policies to qualify for the MPD are Suncorp Home, Contents, Landlord, Car, CTP, Motorcycle, Caravan (including trailer), Motorhome and Boat.
2.1. Suncorp CTP counts as an eligible policy, but you will not receive the MPD on the premium as it cannot be discounted due to Queensland legislation.
2.2. Comprehensive Car Insurance counts as an eligible policy, but the MPD does not apply to the Suncorp Roadside Assist portion of your rated premium, if you have selected this optional cover.
2.3 The MPD does not apply to the Suncorp Insurance Home Assist or Excess-free glass portion of your premium, if you have selected these optional covers with Suncorp Home Insurance.
  3. Subject to the exception in 4, if you take out a new policy which means you then qualify for the MPD, the MPD will apply to that policy immediately but on your other existing eligible policies, the MPD applies from the next renewal date after you qualify, provided you still qualify.
  4. Notwithstanding 3, if you become eligible for the MPD around the time your other policies are due for renewal, the MPD may not have been applied to the renewing policies because the renewals were generated before you were eligible for MPD. Please contact us if you believe you are eligible for the MPD on your renewal but it is not shown on your certificate of insurance.
  5. If you’re eligible, the discount is applied to the premium prior to taxes and charges being added. Should other discounts (in addition to the MPD) be applicable, then we will apply each further discount to the already discounted premium.
  6. We reserve the right to vary or discontinue our MPD at any time and without notice.

^Online discount applies to Building Insurance, Contents Insurance, combined Home & Contents Insurance, Landlord Insurance, Comprehensive Car Insurance and Third Party Property Damage Car Insurance. The amount of the discount depends on the type of policy you choose.
