When will the insurer not pay?
The PDS and Policy Document details certain activities and conditions for which we don't pay claims. For example for the Disability Benefit: some high risk occupations and activities. For example; for the Redundancy Benefit: voluntary resignation or misconduct. By doing this, the monthly insurance premium is kept at a level that's more affordable for you.
The insurance payment replaces lost income. This means if you haven't received any income 12 months prior to the claim, or you continue to receive more than 75% of your income when disabled (for example, through workers' compensation), then no payment will be made.
If there is non-disclosure or fraud and we end the policy as a result, then no claim will be payable.
