COVERED
Suncorp Home and Contents Insurance classifies a storm surge as a rush of water onshore associated with a low-pressure system and caused by strong winds pushing on the ocean’s surface. Storm surge does not include actions or movements of the sea.

What’s covered
Loss or damage caused by a storm surge that happens at the same time as other insured damage caused by a storm.
What’s not covered?
There are some instances where your home and contents are not covered for loss or damage, such as when the damage was caused by actions or movements of the sea.
We do not cover loss or damage caused by erosion, vibration, subsidence, landslip, landslide, mudslide, collapse, shrinkage or any other earth movement.
There are items we don't cover, like retaining walls, sea walls, garden borders, or sporting surfaces or courts such as a tennis court. We also do not cover the cost of cleaning undamaged contents.
