Storm
COVERED
Australia is famous for its sunshine and idyllic climate. But, perhaps of equal infamy is our chaotic weather. This is why it may bring peace of mind knowing you're covered for certain storm events when you take out a Suncorp policy.
What policy covers loss or damage caused by storms?
Cover for damage caused by storms applies to all levels of cover. We classify a storm as a single weather event being, a cyclone or severe atmospheric disturbance. It can be accompanied by strong winds, rain, lightning, hail, snow or dust.
What’s covered
Loss or damage to your home and/or contents caused by a storm.
What’s not covered
There are instances where you are not covered, such as damage caused by storm entering through any unfinished parts of the home or unit under construction whether or not they were temporarily covered when the damage occurred. There are also specific structures that we don't cover when there is loss or damage by a storm, like retaining walls, garden borders, free-standing outdoor walls or a sporting surface or court like a tennis court.
We don’t insure you for storms in the first 72 hours of a new policy. Very limited exceptions apply.
You can find more information on this and other limits, conditions and exclusions that may apply in the Product Disclosure Statement.
