Bicycle
COVERED
If you’re a fan of pedal-powered transportation, then you’ll want to ensure your favourite bike is insured. Here are some instances where you will and will not be covered for any loss or damage caused by an insured event.
What policy covers bicycles
What’s covered
We cover bicycles under our contents cover. When we say bicycle, we mean a standard bicycle that can only be propelled by pedaling (not an e-bicycle). Our Personal Valuables Optional cover is available to cover your bicycle for accidental loss or damage at or away from the insured address (home/unit) during the period of insurance, anywhere in Australia or New Zealand, while in use unless being used for racing or pace-making.
Keep in mind that for a claim on an item with a replacement value over $3,000, we will ask for proof of purchase, a professional valuation, and a close-up photograph as a minimum.
What’s not covered
There are some instances where you will not be covered, like if the bicycle was being used for racing or pace-making. You can learn more about these exclusions or limitations in the Product Disclosure Statement.
