Team Girls

In 2017, we launched Team Girls with Netball Australia in response to a startling statistic: nearly 50% of all girls stop playing sport by 17. You see, we know that sport builds confidence. And the more confident girls are now, the more successful they can be later in life.

Sport is a chance to show another side of yourself, learn to be part of a team, increase your confidence, and make friendships that last a lifetime.

At Suncorp, we know every girl’s endgame is different. And we’re here for all of them.

I think without netball we wouldn't have been friends.

Six years ago I would never have pictured it to be this way.

There'll be times where it's hard but you look back on it and you think I'm so glad that I did it because otherwise you know I wouldn't have these moments, I wouldn't have these friendships.

Netball is like a release.

I think I've grown. Learned to get on with things, like it doesn't matter what people say.

I think I’ve become more driven.

You've got these friendships around you.

The team is what gives me confidence.

Playing netball has taught me that I have more in me than I thought I had.

We always build each other up. We go around in a circle and we say I really admired how you did this in the game.

I think we've had the friends bit down, it's just the netball we need to work on.
