Carbon neutral certification is given to an organisation when they demonstrate a commitment to reduce emissions by supporting environmental projects to effectively reduce and offset their greenhouse gas emissions during an agreed time period.
In Australia, carbon neutral certification is governed by Climate Active.

Am I eligible for a Carbon Insights Account?
- To open a Carbon Insights Account, you will need to be aged 11 or over.
- The Carbon Insights Account is only available for personal customers.
- You'll need to have access to Internet Banking to be able to transact on the Account and view eStatements and notifications.
How will Suncorp Bank estimate my carbon emissions via my transactions?
We are working with leading carbon service provider Cogo to source industry-level emissions data aligned to customer spend categories. This will only be available to Carbon Insights Account customers via the Suncorp Bank App.
What are carbon (greenhouse gas) emissions?
Greenhouse gases (including but not limited to carbon dioxide and equivalents) are emitted when fossil fuels are burned for the purpose of transportation, electricity production, commercial and residential buildings, industrial processes or from livestock or agricultural production.

1. To be eligible for a Suncorp Bank Visa Debit card you must be 16 years of age or older. If not eligible you will receive a Suncorp Bank eftpos card.

The carbon emissions data provided is an estimate only and calculated using data provided by Cogo (a third party provider) relating to industry averages of carbon emissions per dollar spent based on merchant types (Industry Data). Calculations are based on averages only and are not specific to each item purchased at individual merchants and do not reflect individual merchants sustainability practices. The estimated monthly emissions amount is calculated by progressively adding together the estimated emissions of each eligible transaction for the particular month.

6. Some transactions which may cause the account to become overdrawn include fees and other transactions that occur when Suncorp Bank is processing offline. If your account becomes overdrawn and has a negative balance we will not charge overdrawn fees or interest on the Carbon Insights Account.

++ Osko fast payments can only be made to a PayID or to the BSB and account number of an Osko enabled account at another Osko participating financial institution. Osko fast payments cannot be made from or to Passbook accounts, loan accounts (other than line of credit and overdraft facilities), Farm Management Deposit Accounts, PayLater Accounts and Fixed Term Deposits. Osko fast payments cannot be made from Kids Savings Accounts, Agent’s Statutory Trust Accounts (Qld, NSW) and Solicitor’s Trust Accounts (Qld) but can be made to them.
Staff assisted Osko fast payments cannot be made in branch from Carbon Insights Account and Sub-Accounts, Everyday Options Sub-Accounts, Business Saver Accounts or eOptions Accounts. Future-dated and recurring payments, Business Payment Credits and payments from accounts which requires 2 or more persons to sign to withdraw will not be made as Osko fast payments. We are gradually introducing Osko in Internet Banking so it may not be available for all eligible accounts until the full rollout is complete. Before you confirm a ‘Pay Someone’ transfer in Internet Banking, we will tell you if it will be sent via Osko.
