Frequently asked questions
To open an account for either yourself or a company, you’ll need to provide proof of identity. For a full list of document types and requirements, read the Personal Identification Requirements page.
After you’ve opened up a new Suncorp Everyday, Savings or Business account, you can easily move any regular payments to your new account online via the Suncorp Account Switching self-service tool.
From here, you can import information you’ve stored with other banks, such as payees and billers, as well as download a summary of direct debits, credits and other regular transfers.

Suncorp Bank customers can do all their everyday banking from the Suncorp App, including:
- view account balances
- set up and use Apple Pay® or Google Pay™ with your Visa Debit card as soon as you're approved for an everyday transaction account
- transfer money in under one minute to participating banks with Osko fast payments++
- set up your PayID to make getting paid simpler^
- temporarily lock your Visa Debit card if it's been lost or stolen
- set or reset your card PIN
- view, download and share eStatements, and
- open new bank accounts.
^ A PayID can only be created via the Suncorp App and if you accept and can satisfy our PayID Terms and Conditions. A PayID cannot be created in connection with a Business Account, a Passbook Account, Kids Savings Accounts, loan accounts (other than line of credit and overdraft facilities), Farm Management Deposit Accounts and Fixed Term Deposits. Certain types of mobile numbers (eg. international numbers) and email addresses may not be in a format which is compatible with our PayID requirements and, therefore, cannot be created as a PayID.
To make sure your salary is deposited into your Suncorp Bank account, you’ll need to give your employer your BSB and account number. Suncorp’s BSB number is 484-799 for all accounts.

1. A Suncorp Visa Debit Card is required.
2. To be eligible for a Suncorp Bank Visa Debit card you must be 16 years of age or older. If not eligible you will receive a Suncorp Bank eftpos card.
3. Some transactions which may cause the account to become overdrawn include fees and other transactions that occur when Suncorp Bank is processing offline. If your account becomes overdrawn and has a negative balance we will not charge overdrawn fees or interest on the Everyday Essentials account or Carbon Insights Account.
4. flexiRates can only be opened and accessed online.
5. The carbon emissions data provided is an estimate only and calculated using data provided by Cogo (a third party provider) relating to industry averages of carbon emissions per dollar spent for different merchant types (Industry Data). Calculations are based on averages only and are not specific to each item purchased at individual merchants and do not reflect individual merchants sustainability practices.

++ Osko fast payments can only be made to a PayID or to the BSB and account number of an Osko enabled account at another Osko participating financial institution. Osko fast payments cannot be made from or to Passbook accounts, General Trust Accounts, loan accounts (other than line of credit and overdraft facilities), Farm Management Deposit Accounts, PayLater Accounts and Fixed Term Deposits. Osko fast payments cannot be made from Kids Savings Accounts, Agent’s Statutory Trust Accounts (Qld, NSW) and Solicitor’s Trust Accounts (Qld) but can be made to them.
Staff assisted Osko fast payments cannot be made in branch from Carbon Insights Account and Sub-Accounts, Everyday Options Sub-Accounts, Business Saver Accounts or eOptions Accounts. Future-dated and recurring payments, Business Payment Credits and payments from accounts which requires 2 or more persons to sign to withdraw will not be made as Osko fast payments. We are gradually introducing Osko in Internet Banking so it may not be available for all eligible accounts until the full rollout is complete. Before you confirm a ‘Pay Someone’ transfer in Internet Banking, we will tell you if it will be sent via Osko.
