Suncorp Storm Score Promotion Terms and Conditions

PARTICIPATION

  1. This Promotion ("Promotion") is conducted by AAI Limited trading as Suncorp Insurance ABN 48 005 297 807 (“the Promoter”), of Level 28 Brisbane Square, 266 George Street, Brisbane, Queensland 4000, ph 13 11 55.
  2. All entry instructions and prize information published by the Promoter form part of these conditions. Participation in this promotion is deemed acceptance of these conditions.
  3. The Promotion is only open to individuals who: (i) are Queensland residents aged 18 years or older at time of entry; and (ii) are not directors, management or employees, or their immediate family members, of the Promoter or its related companies or agencies associated with the Promotion ("Eligible Entrant").
  4. Promotion entry commences at 12:00AM on Wednesday 14th October 2020 and closes at 11:59PM on Sunday 6th December 2020 ("Entry Period"). Except as otherwise stated, all times are Brisbane time.

ENTRY

  1. To enter the Promotion, an Eligible Entrant must, during the Entry Period:
    1. visit https://stormscore.suncorp.com.au (“Promotion Website”) and register details as prompted including postcode, full name, valid email address and mobile phone number, by signing up with an active Facebook or Google account (“Promotion Registration Form”); and,
    2. optionally, when prompted, nominate a community group to go into the draw to receive a Community Resilience Grant; and,
    3. complete up to seven (7) tasks in the Storm Score Task Checklist to reach a maximum of 100 total points, including submit photographs to evidence your completed tasks and answer multiple choice questions (“Registered Score” or “Score”).
  2. Eligible Entrants may only enter the Promotion in their own name. Limit of one (1) Registered Score per person. Any subsequent Score from the same Eligible Entrant after the first valid Score is received will be deemed invalid. Maximum of one (1) Minor Prize permitted per person. Limit of one (1) community group nomination per Eligible Entrant, made at the time of registration only.
  3. A Registered Score must be received by the Promoter during the Entry Period.  Scores will be deemed received at the time that the Promoter is satisfied at its absolute discretion that all necessary requirements under condition 5 have been met. The Promoter takes no responsibility for late, lost, incomplete, incorrectly submitted, illegible or misdirected entries or delays or failures in any equipment or telecommunications service used to administer this Promotion.
  4. The Promotion is available on mobile internet devices only and any entrants who navigate to the Promotion via a desktop computer will be prompted to change to a mobile device. Cost of entry via the internet is free, but internet connection and usage rates may apply. Eligible Entrants should obtain details of such costs from their service providers.
  5. Eligible Entrants must submit their internet entry manually. The Promoter, in its absolute discretion, may reject internet entries if it forms the opinion that they have been entered using automated entry means or by use of a competition entry service.
  6. The Promoter may, in its absolute discretion, declare an entry invalid or disqualify any entrant that tampers with the entry process or benefits from such tampering, submits an entry that is incomplete or not in accordance with these conditions, or otherwise acts in a manner that is disruptive, dishonest or calculated to jeopardise the fair and proper conduct of this Promotion.
  7. The Promoter reserves the right to require an entrant to verify the validity of their entry within the requested time, including but not limited to an entrant’s identity, eligibility, age, household address and task completion and to disqualify, at its absolute discretion, any entrant who does not satisfy any entry criteria in these conditions. Errors and omissions may be accepted at the Promoter’s discretion. Proof considered suitable for verification is at the Promoter’s discretion.

INDIVIDUAL PRIZES

  1. The Minor Prize is a Household Emergency Starter Kit valued at $100 AUD. The kit is a waterproof sleeve and includes, at the promoter’s discretion, items typically found in an emergency kit (such as first aid kit, portable power bank, USB, torch, sanitiser, sunscreen, water container and batteries) (“Minor Prize”). Items may vary.
  2. There are 100 Minor Prizes to be won across the entire Promotion. The first twenty (20) valid entries drawn in each Minor Prize Draw will win a Minor Prize.
  3. Entries open and close for each Minor Prize Draw on the dates/times specified in section 15. The Minor Prize Draws will be conducted at Plexus, Level 4, 411 Collins Street, Melbourne, VIC, 3000 at 2:30pm AEDT on the dates specified in section 15. The following rules will be applied to determine the entries that are included in a Minor Prize Draw (based on final Scores/entries received to date as at the closing date/time for the Minor Prize Draw):
    1. If no Eligible Entrants obtain a Score of 100, then the entries with the top 100 Scores overall will be entered into the Minor Prize Draw. If there is a tie for any of the top 100 Scores in this case, then tied entries will be re-ranked based on time of completion of the Promotion registration form to ensure only 100 entries are included in the Minor Prize Draw. If less than 100 entries are received, then all entries will be entered in the Minor Prize Draw.
    2. If there are less than 100 entries that obtain a Score of 100, all entries with the Score of 100 will be entered into the Minor Prize Draw. In addition, the next top scoring entries to make up a total of 100 entries overall for the draw will also be entered into the Minor Prize Draw. If there is a tie for any Scores obtained outside of 100, they will be re-ranked based on date/time of completion of the Promotion Registration Form to ensure only 100 entries are included in the Minor Prize Draw.
    3. If there are exactly 100 valid entries with the top Score of 100, they will be entered into the Minor Prize Draw.
    4. If there are more than 100 entries with a top Score of 100, anyone with a Score of 100 will be entered into the Minor Prize Draw.
    5. Minor Prize winners will be eligible to win one (1) Minor Prize only, and will not be eligible to win in any subsequent Minor Prize Draw/s.
  4. Minor Prize draws;
    1. Draw 1 – Entry opens 12:00am on 14/10/20, entry closes 11:59pm on 08/11/20 and the date of the draw is 11/11/20.
    2. Draw 2 – Entry opens 12:00am on 14/10/20, entry closes 11:59pm on 15/11/20 and the date of the draw is 18/11/20.
    3. Draw 3 – Entry opens 12:00am on 14/10/20, entry closes 11:59pm on 22/11/20 and the date of the draw is 25/11/20.
    4. Draw 4 – Entry opens 12:00am on 14/10/20, entry closes 11:59pm on 29/11/20 and the date of the draw is 02/12/20.
    5. Draw 5 – Entry opens 12:00am on 14/10/20, entry closes 11:59pm on 06/12/20 and the date of the draw is 09/12/20.
  5. There is one (1) Major Prize to be won.
  6. The Major Prize is valued at $20,000 AUD and consists of the following;
    1. $10,000 AUD to be deposited into an Australian bank account. The prize winner will be required to provide the details of one (1) nominated Australian bank account for the prize to be deposited into, within 28 days from notification of winning the prize;
    2. a meet and greet with Johnathan Thurston (“Talent”) for up to six (6) participants and a maximum duration of one (1) hour. Date and location to be mutually convenient to prize winner and Talent. Experience may be delivered in a virtual setting (e.g. video conference) if COVID-Safe considerations are required. Promoter to cover costs of Talent’s travel to and from location. All other associated costs to be at the expense of the prize winner. (attendance at which will be limited to the winner and six (6) guests), and
    3. signed merchandise up to the value of $500 AUD, (combined the “Major Prize”).
  7. All entries which obtain a Score of 100 (or otherwise the highest Score) during the entire Entry Period will be included in the Major Prize Draw.
  8. The Major Prize Draw will be conducted at Plexus, Level 4, 411 Collins Street, Melbourne, VIC, 3000 at 2.30pm AEDT on 09/12/20.
  9. If for any reason there is only one (1) Eligible Entrant with the highest Score at the end of the Entry Period, they will automatically be deemed the Major Prize winner and no Major Prize Draw will be conducted.
  10. The total individual prize pool is valued at $30,000 AUD including GST as at 14 October 2020. A prize value is the recommended retail value as provided by the relevant supplier(s). The Promoter takes no responsibility for any variation in a prize’s value due to exchange rate changes or otherwise.
  11. The winners will be notified within two business (2) days of the relevant draw (or winner determination) by a phone call and email, using the details provided in their entry.
  12. Minor Prizes will be sent by registered post within 28 days of the winner claiming their prize when contacted by the Promoter and providing an Australian postal address. Time of delivery following dispatch is subject to Australia Post service.
  13. The Major Prize notification will include instructions as to how the winner is to claim their prize.
  14. The prizes will only be awarded following any winner validation and verification that the Promoter requires in its sole discretion.
  15. Subject, where relevant, to any directions given by a relevant gaming authority, if: (i) a prize is not claimed by a winner or the Promoter has been unable (despite reasonable efforts) to successfully contact the winner on or before 5pm on 18/01/21; or (ii) a winner is determined by the Promoter to be ineligible to win a prize in accordance with these conditions, the relevant prize will be forfeited and instead awarded to another Eligible Entrant in a redraw. Any such redraw will be made from a pool of the remaining Eligible Entrants and will take place at 2.30pm AEDT on 19/01/21 at the same location as the original draws, with any unclaimed prizes awarded to the next valid entry randomly drawn in descending order of value (if applicable). Any redraw prize winner(s) will be notified within 2 days of the redraw by a phone call and email using the details provided in their entry.

COMMUNITY GRANTS

  1. Entry is open to:
    1. all not-for-profit community organisations or not-for-profit groups, education facilities or institutions, or an organisation or group that has entered into an auspice arrangement with an eligible organisation (“Community Groups”); and
    2. who reside in or operate from an address in Queensland, Australia; and
    3. are successfully nominated by an Eligible Entrant who completes all fields required in the Promotion Registration Form (each an “Eligible Group”).
  2. Entry is not open to:
    1. employees (and their immediate family members) of the Promoter or any Related Body Corporate of the Promoter, as well as of any agency engaged by the Promoter in connection with this Promotion; and
    2. any entrant who is under the age of 18; and
    3. individuals; and
    4. for-profit organisations or groups, political organisations or groups, evangelism organisations or groups, advocacy and lobbying organisations or groups, unions and workplace associations, and business and industry associations and any other organisation, entity or body incorporated or otherwise the Promoter deems in its absolute discretion to be ineligible.
  3. Community Grants will be distributed by Suncorp’s charity partner Good2Give (ABN 32 089 603 314, email grants@good2give.ngo).
  4. Limit of one (1) Community Group nominated per Eligible Entrant, only at the time of registration
  5. A maximum of one (1) Community Grant (Minor or Major) can be claimed by each Eligible Group nominated.
  6. Good2Give may contact Eligible Entrants during the promotion to obtain additional information about their nominated Community Group to verify the Group’s eligibility. It is a condition of entry that Eligible Entrants consent to receive this contact from Good2Give
  7. Successful Eligible Groups must, when contacted;
    1. consent to their involvement in the Promotion and the Storm Score Terms and Conditions, and
    2. agree to participate in an acquittal process to be eligible to receive the grant (including submitting photographs of their Storm Season preparedness efforts), and
    3. agree that Suncorp may promote and report on their support of the grant recipient, including using information, reports, and media (including videos, photos and quotes) obtained from recipients or available publicly. The successful Eligible Group agrees to participate in social media and promotional media campaigns with, or for, Suncorp, relating to the grant. The successfully Eligible Group also agrees to their Group name being published through marketing channels, including but not limited to the Promotion Website.
  8. There are ten (10) minor grants of $5,000 AUD to be awarded over five (5) draws, with two (2) grants per draw (“Minor Grants”).
  9. The Community Group nominated in the first two (2) valid entries drawn from each Minor Grant Draw will win a minor grant of $5,000 AUD, subject to section 33.
  10. All valid entries with a nominated Community Group will be included in the Minor Grant draws. All entries received up until the closing date/time for a Minor Grant Draw will be included in that respective draw. All draws will take place at Plexus, Level 4, 411 Collins Street, Melbourne, VIC, 3000 at 2.30pm AEDT on the date listed.
    1. Draw 1 – Entry opens 12:00am on 14/10/20, entry closes 11:59pm on 08/11/20 and the date of the draw is 11/11/20.
    2. Draw 2 – Entry opens 12:00am on 14/10/20, entry closes 11:59pm on 15/11/20 and the date of the draw is 18/11/20.
    3. Draw 3 – Entry opens 12:00am on 14/10/20, entry closes 11:59pm on 22/11/20 and the date of the draw is 25/11/20.
    4. Draw 4 – Entry opens 12:00am on 14/10/20, entry closes 11:59pm on 29/11/20 and the date of the draw is 02/12/20.
    5. Draw 5 – Entry opens 12:00am on 14/10/20, entry closes 11:59pm on 06/12/20 and the date of the draw is 09/12/20.
  11. There is one (1) major grant of $10,000 AUD to be awarded (“Major Grant”).
  12. The Eligible Group nominated in the first one (1) valid entry drawn from the Major Grant Draw will be awarded the Major Grant of $10,000 AUD, subject to section 44.
  13. The cumulative Score for each postcode (made up of all Registered Scores from Eligible Entries from that postcode) will be determined; and the postcode with the highest cumulative Score (with at least one (1) Eligible Group nomination across all entries from that postcode) will be the winning postcode. The Major Grant Draw will be conducted from all entries (with a Community Group nomination) from the winning postcode. The Major Grant Draw will take place at Plexus, Level 4, 411 Collins Street, Melbourne, VIC, 3000 at 2.30pm AEDT on 09/12/20.
  14. If two (2) or more postcodes are tied with the equal highest cumulative Score, each tied postcode will be included in a tie-break draw to determine just one (1) winning postcode.
  15. Minor and Major Grants will be offered as cash and provided in the form of an electronic funds transfer into a nominated bank account. Bank account details and an official bank account document will be required from the successful Eligible Group in order to receive the grant. These must meet Good2Give standards and the bank account name must be in the Eligible Group’s name. If a bank account cannot be provided in the Eligible Group’s name the Group will not be eligible to receive a grant. Payments will be processed within ten (10) business days of Good2Give acknowledging receipt of correct bank account details and official bank account documents, subject to these requirements.
  16. The total grant pool is valued at $60,000 AUD including GST as at 12 October 2020.
  17. Successful Eligible Groups will be contacted within 10 business days of the draw via phone and email by Good2Give.
  18. If: (i) a Minor or Major Grant is not accepted by an Eligible Group or the Promoter has been unable (despite reasonable efforts) to successfully contact the Eligible Group by 5pm on 18/01/21; or (ii) a Successful Eligible Group or Eligible Entrant who nominated the Group is determined by the Promoter, at its absolute discretion, to be ineligible to win a Grant in accordance with these conditions, the relevant Grant will be forfeited and instead awarded to the Eligible Group nominated in the next reserve entry from the original draw or if there are no further reserves drawn, via re-draw taking place at Plexus, Level 4, 411 Collins Street, Melbourne, VIC, 3000 at 1:30pm AEDT on 19/01/21. Any resulting successful Eligible Group will be contacted via phone and email. That process will be repeated if required.

GENERAL

  1. For all draws, the draw conductor may draw additional reserve entries and record them in order in case an invalid entry or ineligible entrant is drawn.
  2. The Promoter takes no responsibility for late, lost, incomplete, incorrectly submitted, illegible or misdirected entries or delays or failures in any equipment or telecommunications service used to administer this Promotion.
  3. Any costs incurred by any entrant which is associated with registration and photo submission (such as internet connection and data usage) are the responsibility of that entrant and at that entrant’s expense.
  4. The Promoter may, in its absolute discretion, declare an entry invalid or disqualify any entrant that tampers with the entry process or benefits from such tampering, submits an entry that is incomplete or not in accordance with these conditions, or otherwise acts in a manner that is disruptive, dishonest or calculated to jeopardise the fair and proper conduct of this promotion.
  5. The Promoter reserves the right to require an entrant to verify the validity of their entry within the requested time, including but not limited to an entrant’s identity, eligibility, address and to disqualify any entrant who does not satisfy any entry criteria in these conditions. Errors and omissions may be accepted at the Promoter’s discretion. Proof considered suitable for verification is at the Promoter’s discretion.
  6. Any additional costs not expressly stated, but which may be incurred in acceptance and use of a prize or grant, are the responsibility of the winner. This includes but is not limited to any travel expenses associated with the meet and greet portion of the Major Prize (if applicable).
  7. No compensation will be payable if a winner or recipient is unable to take any element of a prize or grant as stated, or does not satisfy any conditions of use for any element of the prize or grant (including conditions imposed by event organisers or staff, or other prize or grant providers, such as health, behavior, age and safety requirements), for whatever reason. Any part of a prize or grant that is not taken for any reason is forfeited and no compensation will be provided.
  8. If a prize or grant (or part of a prize or grant) is unavailable for any reason, the Promoter may, in its absolute discretion, substitute alternative goods or services of equal or higher value, subject to the approval of any relevant gaming authority, where required. The Promoter accepts no other liability or responsibility for any loss incurred by a winner or recipient or any other party if a prize or grant (or part of a prize or grant) is unavailable for any reason.
  9. Other than as expressly stated in these conditions, a prize or grant is non-transferable, non-refundable, non-exchangeable, non-replaceable, and non-redeemable for another prize including cash, except at the Promoter’s discretion and subject to relevant State legislation.
  10. The Promoter may retain Eligible Entries to use in the instance a community Grant or individual prize is refused, in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
  11. If for any reason this Promotion is not capable of running as planned, or is interfered with or disrupted in any way (including by vandalism, power failures, natural disasters, acts of God, weather event, civil unrest, strikes, computer bugs or viruses, tampering or technical failures or in connection with Covid-19), the Promoter reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Promotion, or invalidate any affected entries, subject to the approval of any relevant gaming authorities, where required.
  12. The Promoter assumes no responsibility for: (i) any error, omission, interruption, or delay in the operation or transmission of any communication sent to (or by) the Promoter or any entrant whether caused by problems with communication networks or lines, computer systems, software or internet service providers, congestion on any carrier network or otherwise; (ii) any theft, destruction or unauthorised access to, or alteration of such communications; (iii) any problem with, or technical malfunction of, any computer system or other equipment used for the conduct of the Promotion; (iv) any incorrect or incomplete information which may be communicated in the course of the administering this Promotion (whether as a result of one of the foregoing causes or otherwise); or (v) any delay in delivery (when not directly caused by the Promoter or its supplier), or failure of safe delivery of a prize or grant.
  13. All of the Promoter's decisions in relation to all aspects of this Promotion are final and no correspondence will be entered into. Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.
  14. A winner accepts a prize or grant at their own risk. Any tax liability arising as a result of accepting a prize or grant is the responsibility of the winner. Independent financial advice should be sought.
  15. To the full extent permitted by law, the Promoter, its associated companies and agencies and any of their personnel (the "Relevant Parties") exclude all liability for any loss (including any damage, claim, injury, cost or expense) which is suffered or incurred by any Eligible Entrant or Community Group in connection with the promotion or a prize or grant, including without limitation: (i) any indirect, special, economic or consequential loss; (ii) any loss arising from the negligence of a Relevant Party; and (iii) any liability for personal injury or death.  To the extent that such liability cannot be excluded by law, it is limited to the minimum allowable by law.
  16. The winners must, at the Promoter’s request, participate in all promotional activity (such as publicity and photography) surrounding winning a prize or grant, free of charge, and consent to the Promoter using their name, likeness, image and/or voice (including any photograph, film and/or recording of them) in promotional material in any media at any time without notification or compensation, financial or otherwise.
  17. Proof of identity, residency and eligibility is at the discretion of the Promoter. In the event that a person cannot provide suitable proof, they may forfeit a prize or grant in whole and no substitute will be offered.
  18. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any person who provides false information or who seeks to gain an unfair advantage or to manipulate this Promotion.

PRIVACY STATEMENT AND MARKETING CONSENT

  1. Entrants’ personal information is collected from entrants by or on behalf of the Promoter to enable the Promoter and its agents to manage, administer and market the Promotion and, where applicable, publicise the winners. The personal information may also be provided to persons assisting the Promoter, including prize suppliers and deliverers, marketing agencies and IT providers, and to gaming authorities, media outlets and related companies. This includes personal information being supplied to Good2Give for the possible validation of Community Group nominations made by Eligible Entrants. By participating in the Promotion, Eligible Entrants consent to these uses and disclosures of their personal information.
  2. If an Eligible Entrant does not provide the personal information the Promoter requests, the Promoter may not be able to enter them into the promotion. All personal information is handled in accordance with these conditions and the Promoter’s Privacy Policy. Information about how to access or correct the personal information that the Promoter holds about you, or complain, can be found in the Promoter’s Privacy Policy available online at https://www.suncorp.com.au/content/dam/suncorp/corporate/documents/legal/privacy/suncorp-personal-insurance-privacy-statement.pdf.
  3. If an entrant has marked the “opt-in” box on the entry form, the entrant also consents to the retention of their personal information so that the Promoter and any related companies that use the Suncorp brand (“we”/”us”) may use this information from time to time to let the entrant know about news, offers, products and services they might be interested in (by any medium, including telephone, email, mail, SMS or online marketing). In order to carry out direct marketing, entrants’ personal information will be collected from and disclosed to others that provide us with specialised data matching, trending or analytical services, as well as general marketing services.  We, and other people who provide us with services, may combine the personal information collected from entrants or others, with the information we, or other companies in the Suncorp Group, or our service providers already hold about entrants.  We may also use online targeted marketing, data and audience matching and market segmentation to improve advertising relevance. Entrants may unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time using information contained in a marketing message or by making a request during a telephone call.
  4. All material submitted on entry (e.g. photo(s), image(s), drawing(s), comment(s), sound/video recording(s) and answer(s) to a promotional question) must NOT: (a) be in breach of any laws, regulations and rights, e.g. any laws regarding intellectual property (copyright, trademarks, etc), defamation and privacy; (b) be defamatory, obscene, derogatory, pornographic, sexually inappropriate, contain nudity, aggressive, violent, abusive, harassing, threatening, objectionable or discriminate/vilify any section of the community with respect to race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, origin, sexual preference, mental illness, disability or gender or unsuitable for publication; or (c) contain viruses. Entrants warrant that they own or have the right to license the copyright in any entry submitted by them into this Promotion, for the purposes of this Promotion, that no rights have been granted to any third party in respect of any such entry which would prevent the entry being used as contemplated by this Promotion, and that the use by the Promoter of any such entry will not breach any laws or infringe the rights of any person (including without limitation with respect to privacy, intellectual property and defamation). Entrants must obtain prior consent from any person or from the owner(s) of any property that appears in their entry. By entering, all entrants license and grant the Promoter, its affiliates and sub-licensees an exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, worldwide, irrevocable, and sub-licensable right to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish and display their entry (including any portion of their entry) for any purpose, including but not limited to future promotional, marketing or publicity purposes, in any media, without compensation, restriction on use, attribution or liability. Entrants further agree, upon request by the Promoter, to assign all of their rights, title and interest (including copyright) in and to their entry to the Promoter and to sign any legal documentation to confirm such assignment. Entrants agree that their entry is their original work and does not infringe the rights of third parties, or that they have obtained full prior consent from any person who has jointly created or has any rights in the aforementioned material. Entrants consent to any use of their entry that may otherwise infringe their moral rights. Entrants are responsible for all entries they submit on entry. The Promoter will not be liable for any entries, to the extent permitted by law. The Promoter reserves the right to remove, request removal or decline to publish any entry or portion of an entry for any reason whatsoever, including if in breach of these Terms and Conditions. The Promoter will have no liability to entrants if it exercises this right and entrants must comply with any request made by the Promoter pursuant to this paragraph. The entrant warrants and represents that any material sent or provided by the entrant to the Promoter will not infringe any copyright, trademarks or other intellectual property rights of any third party (including moral rights) and that the entrant has all rights to use the materials and has obtained all necessary consents to comply with any relevant privacy and/or confidentiality requirements. Entrants agree to indemnify the Promoter for any breach of the Terms and Conditions including this section.
