Free and confidential grief counselling services throughout Australia can support you through your grief. Many are available 24/7.

Government support services

You may need to seek out additional government services to help you finalise your loved one’s Estate.

You can find extra support with the following services:

Australian Taxation Office (ATO)
each out to the ATO if you need to lodge a final tax return on behalf of your loved one.

Births, deaths and marriages registry
It’s the responsibility of individual state and territory governments to provide Death Certificates.

Centrelink
The Department of Human Service can link you with relevant social work services.

Australian Funeral Directors Association
Contact the AFDA if you need assistance planning a funeral or selecting a funeral director.
