How do I Identify a Fake (Phishing) Website and/or email?
The most obvious way to identify a fake website is to check the URL in the address bar, but there are other ways too. Also, Suncorp Bank will never send you an email asking you to verify your details, reset your account or supply any personal details.
Here are some other things to consider to help protect your online safety:
- When logging into Suncorp Bank's Internet Banking, check that the web address or URL of the website looks valid
- Become familiar with our Internet Banking website and app login screen – we’ll, ask you to provide your Customer ID, password and token code, or if you’re using the app, you’ll need to enter a PIN number or your fingerprint for Touch ID
- Check whether or not the email address is coming from the right sender.
If you receive a suspicious email appearing to have been sent by Suncorp Bank, DON'T click on any links or attachments in the email. Forward the email to us at security@suncorp.com.au.
If you suspect you have responded to a fraudulent email or been a victim of fraud, contact us immediately.
