Financial relief for Suncorp customers impacted by drought

Suncorp would like to remind customers that financial assistance is available for those impacted by drought.

Suncorp Banking & Wealth CEO, David Carter said Suncorp was committed to supporting its agribusiness customers as the dry conditions continue.

“Suncorp’s financial relief package provides customers with flexible finance options during times of hardship due to events, such as drought,” Mr Carter said.

“All agribusiness customers impacted by the drought are eligible for support and our staff are ready to assist them with their financial concerns.

“We would urge customers who are struggling to contact us sooner, rather than later, so we can put assistance measures in place immediately.”

Customers will be offered support according to their individual needs, but available options include:

  • A deferral of scheduled loan repayments
  • Waiving fees and charges, including break costs on early redemption of Farm Management Deposits
  • Debt consolidation to help make repayments more manageable
  • Restructuring existing loans free of the usual establishment fees
  • Deferring interest payments on a case-by-case basis
  • Offering additional finance to help cover cash flow shortages
  • Deferring upcoming credit card payments
  • Increasing emergency credit card limits
  • Waiving early termination fees for customers who wish to access their term deposits.

Customers with Farm Management Deposit accounts should also talk to their Relationship Manager about how they may be able to access these funds sooner, without losing the associated tax benefits.
