Motorsport Legend and Cricket Hero Set to Share Stage at Beef Australia 2015

16 March 2015

Join Australian sporting royalty in Rockhampton this May, when Craig Lowndes and Adam Gilchrist take to the stage at the Suncorp Bank Sportsman’s Lunch, as part of Beef Australia 2015.

Hosted by Suncorp Bank, the ticketed event on Friday, 8 May will see the legendary duo take their guests on a journey through their combined 40 year sporting history.

With tickets on sale from today (Monday, 16 March 2015), Suncorp Bank Regional Manager for North Queensland, Troy Constance, said he predicted this year’s Sportsman’s Lunch to be a highlight on the Beef Australia social calendar.

“As a major supporting partner of Beef Australia 2015, Suncorp Bank is thrilled to host the Sportsman’s Lunch, and have two iconic Australian sports stars attend as guest speakers. It isn’t every day you get two premier sporting greats, like Craig Lowndes and Adam Gilchrist in the same room,” Mr Constance said.

“Agriculture is a fundamental part of Queensland’s heritage, and continues to be an integral part of its future. As Australia’s leading regional bank founded on a rich connection to agriculture, we are proud to support initiatives, like Beef Australia, which celebrate and highlight the importance of the agriculture industry.”

The Sportsman’s Lunch is just one of the many Suncorp Bank hosted events at this year’s Beef Australia.

“The Suncorp Bank Next Generation Forum is another premier event on the Beef Australia calendar. The forum is open to beef enthusiasts between the ages of 18 to 35,” Mr Constance said.

“It will focus on the key issues facing the next generation of emerging beef farmers, and will provide an insight into how to manage the challenges and take advantage of the opportunities.

“Additionally, the Suncorp Bank Seminar will shine a light on one of the most important, yet often overlooked issues facing many farming families, succession planning.

“Well regarded planning specialist, Isobel Knight, together with international trade and investment specialist, Brendan Goulding will provide practical advice and guidance on how to navigate through the process of succession planning.”

Beef Australia 2015 will be held from 4 to 9 May in Rockhampton, and will be a celebration of all facets of the Australian beef industry. Dating back to Australia’s bicentennial celebration in 1988, Beef Australia has grown to become the cattle industry’s national exhibition, attracting more than 85,000 people from across Australia and around the world.
