Fuel2Fly is a series of netball clinics for young girls aged 9-14, run by former Australian Diamonds co-captains and Team Girls ambassadors, Laura Geitz and Clare McMeniman. Founded by the netball duo back in 2014, Fuel2Fly clinics promote healthy lifestyles and encourages young women to feel empowered.
In August 2017, Suncorp was announced as the Presenting Partner of Fuel2Fly, in alignment with our Team Girls initiative. Together with Laura and Clare, we want to encourage young Australian girls to be real and comfortable in their own skin by being proactive in life and positively engaged in their communities.
The clinics not only help to improve netball skills, but learn about life skills including:
- Handling setbacks and being resilient
- Being true to yourself
- Setting goals
- Positive self-talk
- How to continuously learn and improve yourself
- Not taking yourself so seriously!
- The importance of making new friends
- Nutrition and performance
The clinics run for 3-4 hours and cost $77 per person, with $7 going towards the Confident Girls Foundation, the not-for-profit arm of Netball Australia.
