To open an Everyday Options account online you must be an Australian resident applying for a personal account and you must provide:
- Name, address and contact details including your email address. It is very important that you provide us with a correct email address so that you can regularly check for emails with details about the progress of your application.
- Account details, including how many sub accounts you would like to open, whether you are applying for individual or joint accounts and whether you require a cheque book and/or card access.
- Once we have processed your application you must provide 100 points of identification at any Suncorp/GIO Branch or Australia Post Office to activate your account.
- Your transaction card can be either a standard or a Visa Debit card.
- Card Skins – choose to have your very own personalised photo or other suitable image on your card. Design your card first and use the Image Reference Number provided when applying online. More information on Card Skins.
Provision of Tax File Numbers is optional under taxation legislation. If you do not provide a Tax File number to use for your bank accounts, tax may be deducted from the interest earned on the account at the highest marginal rate. What will happen after you complete your application?
Once your application has been completed, Suncorp will process it at the first opportunity. You will receive emails that will update you with the progress of your application.
You will receive an email from Suncorp confirming receipt of your application. If you do not receive this confirmation email within 24 hours you may have entered your email address incorrectly and you should resubmit your online application. As soon as your account has been opened you will receive further confirmation and instructions on how to activate your account. Under normal circumstances your account should be opened within 2 to 5 working days.
