We've introduced some great new eco-friendly initiatives in response to customers' growing concerns about environmental changes. Here is a summary of the initial steps we have taken to more eco-friendly Suncorp Home, Contents and Motor Insurance.
New Home and Contents Insurance Features
At Suncorp we're aiming to make things easier for you when rebuilding or replacing items covered by your Home and Contents Insurance. We've introduced new eco-friendly features to help reduce their impact on the environment. These new features are available for Standard, 55UP, Platinum & Investor Home and Contents Insurance, existing customers are automatically covered.
Rainwater storage solution or solar power facility
We will pay up to $2,500 of the net cost of installing a rainwater storage solution or solar powered heating facility when we rebuild or repair your home when at least 80% of your home is damaged by an insured event. If these were part of your home before your claim, they will be covered elsewhere in your policy.
3 star energy rating for white goods
New for old replacement now includes a minimum 3 star energy rating on white goods, even if your white good originally had a lower rating. This means when we replace fridges, freezers, washing machines, dryers, dishwashers and air conditioners, we replace them with a new item of equal specification and if you agree, with a minimum 3 star energy rating.
Motor Insurance for Hybrid Vehicles
At Suncorp we've reduced our comprehensive insurance premiums for ^hybrid vehicles by 10%.
Any discounts that you may be eligible for such as No Claim Discounts, Multiple Policy Discounts, Family Discount and our Named Driver Option for example, will be applied to the new reduced premium.
If you are an existing customer who has a hybrid vehicle comprehensively insured with Suncorp, the premium reduction will automatically take effect upon renewal.
^Hybrid vehicles are those that are powered by electricity and one or more other fuel types. Examples of hybrid vehicles include Toyota Prius, Lexus 450 GSH, Lexus RX 400H and Honda Civic.
