There are various responsibilities and legal obligations that you must observe in your role as a rental property owner. These are clearly set out by the various State Acts relating to residential tenancies.
In addition to protecting the rights of both tenant and landlord, the various State Acts assists investors by offering advice on tenancies, as well as a rental bond custodial service and a mediation service to help in resolving disputes.
The residential tenancies authorities in most states will have a handy guide to the relevant State Act which provides helpful information relating to general tenancies.
