Suncorp have introduced a number of steps to ensure that those customers who find themselves in financial difficulty receive the right support.

1. With your agreement, we will try to help you overcome your financial difficulties with the credit facility you have with us. We will deal with you or, at your request, with your financial counsellor or authorised representative.
2. If, at the time, the hardship provisions of state or federal legislation could apply to your circumstances, we will inform you about them.
3. We will respond promptly, courteously and sympathetically to any requests for assistance from you.
4. We will take into account the information available to us, including the information you provide to us, about your financial situation to determine the assistance we can provide to you.
5. We will always inform you of our decision and the reasons for our decisions, as well as the agreed arrangements for any assistance we provide you.
6. We will not commence or take any further step in any proceeding in relation to the credit facility or assign the debt while we are considering your application for assistance.
7. If you are facing hardship some of the steps we may take to help you include:
   1. deferred repayments & interest capitalisation
   2. extension of loan terms;
   3. reducing credit limits;
   4. debt re-ageing; and
   5. debt settlements.
8. In determining which of these options maybe suitable, we will take full account of your individual circumstances. We will also inform you of the detail of any deferred repayments obligations, including repayment amounts and timing.
