Preventing the effects of skin cancer
Townsville is widely regarded as the skin cancer capital of the world.
In 2005 Suncorp and Townsville City Council formed a partnership, the first of its kind, to promote sun safety to the local community.
One of the highlights of the Sunsafety Committee’s work is the introduction of a Marquee Lending Program, offering use of shade structures to local community groups and schools for a small administration charge.
