Helping deaf & hearing-impaired children
One of the world’s leading paediatric auditory-verbal and cochlear implant centres in the world is the Hear and Say Centre, based in Brisbane, with regional centres on the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Cairns and Dalby, and a valuable Outreach program for rural and remote children.
This family based program recognises the parent as the natural language teacher of the child and aims to give children the speech and language skills necessary to achieve mainstream education, employment of choice and social integration with the hearing world.
Suncorp has supported the Centre since the early 1990’s, helping to raise over $1 million via annual donations and the Hear and Say Butterfly Appeal – a Queensland wide initiative.
The 2008 Butterfly Appeal will commence on 31 March. Suncorp customers can make donations to the Hear and Say Centre all year round via ‘Bpay Round Up’ – simply round up the total of any Suncorp bill when you next pay online using Bpay.
