Switch your banking to Suncorp

Switching your banking to Suncorp from another bank or financial institution is easy, giving you time to focus on the more important things in life.

3 Simple Steps to switch: Step 1: Open a Suncorp everyday banking or savings account
Step 2: Redirect payments from your old accounts
  • Arrange to have your salary paid into your new Suncorp bank account
  • Set up payments into and out of your new Suncorp bank account
  • Transfer any funds from your old bank accounts to your new Suncorp bank account (making sure your leave enough in your old account(s) to cover any payments that may be due in the next 1-2 months)
Step 3: Close your old accounts once your payments have been updated

What you’ll need to Switch your Direct Debits and Credits To make it as quick and easy as possible, it’s a good idea to have the following information to hand before you start:
  • Your new Suncorp account details – account name, six digit BSB (484 – 799) and nine digit account number.
  • A list of regular payments out of your account e.g. rent, phone bills, power bills, rates. View a list of sample payments to assist you. You can request a list of your direct debit and direct credit arrangements from your old bank.
  • A list of regular payments into your account e.g. salary, share dividends, government allowances. Your old bank statements will help here too.
  • Details of the accounts you want to close - account name, BSB and account numbers.
How you can Switch Organisations will only take instructions to switch your account details from you (their customer). You have 3 main options:

Option 1 - if you want to switch really quickly, you can phone the organisations you make regular payments to and receive payment from to inform them of your new bank account details. Our Contact list may help you get started!

Option 2 – some organisations will only take switching instructions by letter. Just use our letter notification tool and you can easily create letters to all the organisations you make payments to or receive payments from. Create notification letters button

Option 3 – Come and visit us in Branch. Our staff will be happy to help you to complete the necessary forms and will forward them on your behalf. You will need to bring with you the list of your direct debit and direct credit arrangements which can be obtained from your old bank.
