Suncorp Insurance partners with national event to curb growing road toll
To date in 2013, more than 90 Queenslanders have been killed on our roads . These tragic deaths, and the heartache and grief they have caused could almost certainly have been prevented.
Suncorp Insurance has again joined forces with the Australian Road Safety Foundation to promote Fatality Free Friday – an event that aims to achieve zero road deaths throughout the country for just one day.
Mossman residents were engaged to develop anti drink driving artworks for use throughout the community thanks to a $7,000 Safer Queensland Community Grant from Suncorp Insurance and the Queensland Police Service (QPS).
The grant was one of 52 awarded to community groups throughout Queensland from 2011 to 2012 for initiatives that promote road safety and reduce crime and the fear of crime.
240 at-risk Bundamba youth were engaged in an adventure-based program designed to reduce anti-social behaviour and criminal activity thanks to a $10,000 grant funded by Suncorp Insurance and Queensland Police Service (QPS) as part of the 2012 Safer Queensland Community Grants program.
