Automatic flood cover
We include automatic flood cover for all types of flood caused by rain. Click here to learn more about our flood cover.

Insured events
We cover accidental loss or damage as a result of 16 Insured Events. Some of these include Storm, Flood, Fire, Vandalism and malicious damage by tenants or their guests, Theft by tenants or their guests. For a full list, read the PDS.

Non-payment of rent
There are many reasons why tenants stop paying rent. So we’ve improved our loss of rent cover to include more scenarios including:  

  • Up to 14 weeks loss of rent caused by tenant default, limited to $5000
  • Up to 14 weeks loss of rent if your tenant permanently leaves without notice, limited to $5000  
  • Rent recovery legal costs up to $5,000
  

Added protection
In addition to better protection against loss of rent, we also now provide these additional features and covers:

  • Contents on common property
  • Damage to gardens and plants
  • Damage from physical injury or incident
Lifetime guarantee on home repairs
For peace of mind, Suncorp guarantees the quality of materials and workmanship of home repairs that we authorise and arrange for the lifetime of your home.

Legal liability
Legal liability cover of up to $20 million.

You can ask us to add one or more of the following optional covers to your policy for an extra premium. Our options include:

Motor Burnout
We cover the repair or replacement of burnt out or fused household electric motors less than 11 years old, such as refrigerator, pool pump and washing machine.

Accidental damage at the property
We cover you for accidental loss or damage to your home and contents, such as spilling red wine on the carpet, or scorching a bench top with a hot pan.
 

   Safety net protection
We provide up to 25% extra protection if your home is damaged and the cost to rebuild your home new for old exceeds your sum insured. Because we understand that, even when you have carefully selected the amount of cover you require, sometimes rebuilding costs can increase.

Strata title mortgage protection
We will cover up to the outstanding amount of the mortgage on your unit if its building is damaged by an insured event and the mortgagee claims on you because the building’s cover falls short.
