Real Estate Graduate
Suncorp’s Real Estate (RE) team manages all the accommodation the Group uses to run its business. The properties we use (which are almost entirely leased) are not held for investment purposes but to enable the goals and objectives of Suncorp. This is commonly referred to as “corporate real estate”.
RE works across every part of the business building close relationships and designing and implementing sustainable, workplace solutions aligned to key business drivers. RE supported by its partner, Jones Lang LaSalle, oversees an 'end to end' real estate service covering all corporate/commercial sites, call centres, retail outlets, business banking sites, motor vehicle assessment centres, data centres and ancillary real estate. Advice and services cover portfolio management, lease transactions, facilities management, environmental sustainability, workplace design, project management, financial management, security, concierge and relocation services.
Balancing the Suncorp Group's operational cost and service requirements with external suppliers is a demanding responsibility. It involves thorough collaboration with internal stakeholders to determine business requirements, exploration of external supply options and the commercial acumen to formalise a suitable contract with chosen suppliers. Fundamental skills required by RE staff are strong communication, influencing and business skills necessary to develop, negotiate, implement and manage these commercial relationships. In addition, effective management of the portfolio must be underpinned by excellent project management skills to deliver results on time and budget.
The Real Estate team prides itself on maintaining a professional yet enjoyable working environment. We actively encourage a healthy work-life balance and support flexibility in working arrangements to balance individual circumstances and demanding business needs.
Suncorp is committed to operating in a more responsible manner and this is overseen by the Group’s Corporate Social Responsibility Program. Part of this program is managing the Group’s environmental impacts which predominately result from the buildings Suncorp occupies. As a result of this the Real Estate team is seeking to appoint a graduate who can help drive the Group take meaningful steps to manage these impacts and improve the sustainable performance of the real estate space occupied by Suncorp.
